The Role: Accounts Assistant

You'll be working with the Accounts Manager to provide support for our increasing family of clients through conducting day to day financial transactions for them such as bank reconciliations, invoicing payments, petty cash, banking & VAT processes.

You'll have a hand in preparing job costing, cashflow forecasting and budgetary information for our clients - as well as continuing to develop financial procedures in order to improve efficiency.

We offer a wide range of services for our clients, so expect to produce month end adjustments, management accounts and balance sheets as required. You must also keep ahead of developments through appropriate reading and any relevant training.

The Candidate

The successful candidate must be at least AAT level 4 qualified or have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience that has included:

  • Being able to provide detailed reconciliations.
  • Have been involved with the development of management of budgets and forecasting.
  • Have previously established or improved any computerised accounting/financial management systems. 

The Benefits

Salary: £17,290 - £20,020

As a candidate you must also possess:

  • High level of numeracy and be capable of accurately recording financial information.
  • Strong IT skills, especially in Microsoft Excel.
  • The ability to manage your workload and complete reports to set deadlines. 
  • Clear communication skills to non-financially minded people.
  • Superb organisational skills with a high attention to detail.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of VAT industry specific financial legislative requirements or ability to learn.
  • Commitment to quality management of financial systems and practises.
  • High level of integrity and honesty.
