The App Store fro Small Businesses

This month Xero announced their brand new Xero App Store!

We offer all of our accounting clients a free Xero subscription, and highly recommend you take a look through their amazing collection of apps – over 1000 strong now.

The new store is a reimagined version of the previous Marketplace, designed with small businesses in mind. It is the place to go for discovering and buying Xero connected apps.

In a recent statement from Xero, they explained the mission for their new store and how they intend on getting the best apps out to small businesses owners and their teams to help increase revenue and resilience.

In their report, ‘The Job Ahead: Small businesses and the global economic recovery’, Xero found that firms in Australia, New Zealand and the UK with at least five apps grew their sales by 4.3% in the year leading up to December 2020. Those without any apps saw a decline of 3.4%.

With such a large variety of apps on offer, the choice can be overwhelming and it can be time-consuming and difficult knowing which apps will be the best fit for you and your business. The new Xero App Store aims to reduce these problems by making it easier for small businesses and their advisors to find the right apps to successfully run their business.

So, what has changed?

  • The layout of the storefront has been redesigned for easier navigation to ensure you can easily find the right apps for you.
  • There have also been improved search capabilities as well as personalised recommendations based on what Xero already knows about you, powered by machine learning. The new store uses insights to bring the right apps to you based on your industry and unique profile.
  • App reviews are now more detailed and relevant, and have been brought to the forefront of the store to help you make informed decisions.
  • App developers have access to sophisticated analytics to help them improve their offerings.
  • You can now start a trial and purchase apps in only a few clicks, through Xero’s secure portal with a single login. You can also manage those subscriptions all in one place.

These changes to the way you find and purchase Xero connected apps should help make the entire process much simpler.

Remember, if you’re ever unsure of which apps will suit your needs, we are always here to advise and support you. As Xero Platinum Partners, we are knowledgeable in the Xero App Store offerings, and the best apps for each industry – from Figured for livestock tracking and farm budgeting, to Workshop Software, for managing automatove, marine and truck workshops.
